Dogo Argentino Club Finland has been working for Dogo Argentinos in Finland since it was found in 1993. It is the only official Dogo Argentino association in Finland recognized by the Finnish Kennel Club.
The first dogos were imported to Finland in the beginning of 1990's. In the end of year 2006 there were 350 registered Dogo Argentinos in Finland, including the very first dogos as well. These days there has born several litters by Finnish breeders, but new breeding material has been imported from many countries like Argentina, Austria, Russia, Estonia, Slovakia, United States, Spain, Denmark and Italy.
Dogo Argentino Club Finland is a link between the breed and the FKC in Finland. The Club prepares e.g. guidelines for breeding and health examinations, kennel name applications, exceptional permits for breeding and other important tasks that has influence to every dogo-owner in Finland in co-operation with the Finnish Kennel Club and the breeding organisation, Suomen Seurakoirayhdistys ry. In 2009 DACF also joined the recently grounded world-wide Dogo Argentino organization, A.M.D.A.
Dogo Argentino Club Finland has also organized various affairs including speciality shows, lectures, training days and social evenings for dogueros in Finland and abroad. The Club has been honored to guest some of the greatest dogueros in the world, like late Dr. Fernando Moreno (de Agallas), Dr. Eduardo Lavado (de los Medanos) and Paolo Vianini (del Vianini). In year 2007 the Club organized several happenings, in which the most important was the official speciality show for Dogo Argentinos 17.6.2007 in the city of Järvenpää. The show was judged by Mrs. Ana Maria Tedeschi from Argentina and with 82 entries the show was the largest official dogo argentino show in Finland and northern Europe of all times. The following year the speciality show took place in the city of Kotka with over 70 dogo argentinos entering the show to be judged by Mr. José Luis Forlla. On 2009 the event moved back to Järvenpää gathering almost 80 dogo argentinos under the tight judging by Eduardo Lavado.
The next big event will be the Monografica Finlandia 2010 held in the city of Järvenpää on June 12th 2010.
